Running Accomplishments:

I have been running ever since my 7th grade year when I joined the junior high track team. When I made the move to High School I jumped right into XC and then to track. Had the opportunity to run at Nike Cross Regionals in Arizona with my team this last season. My PR's are: Mile- 4:54, 2 mile: 10:32, 800m: 2:13, 5K: 17:07, 400: 57 sec.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My goals for thie track season is to qualify for state in one of the three main distance events. I'm focusing on getting there for the mile with the rest of my team but would be happy with any that may come my way. 800m: 2:00, Mile: 4:26, 2 Mile: 10:05.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to run in college after high school but if that doesn't pan out then my goal is to stay active with running, maybe get into running half or full marathons.

Personal:

Diabetic Asmatic. Found out I had type-1 diabetes right before my first year running XC for my high school. I had asthma as a kid and it went away and recently came back last track season, I didn't find out about it until this last XC season so my PR's aren't quite where I want the to be. Once I began treating my asthma my PR for the 5k dropped by a minute so I'm excited to see how that translates to this track season. Member of Team Pre, follow us @team_pre on instagram!

Went to Cedar City today with the family, we left around noon so I had plenty of time to get my run in the morning. I slept in and then went out for a nice easy distance run. I was super wiped out from yesterdays workout so I didn't push it at all.

Went and watched the BYU invite, throughout the day i accumlated only 6 miles. I was going to run after I got home to get to 8 but then we stopped at pizza pie cafe and I became too full. I felt really fresh and am looking forward to Region next week.

Shoutout to Connor for qualifying for the mile! And shoutout to Sean for running a 62 sec. last lap and missing the state mark by less than a second, he'll get it easily at region!

We began our taper for region today. I figured it would be like 7 but when Jaimie told us 6 I was total disbelief, 6 miles feels like nothing compared to the miles we have ran this year. Connor and Madi had 800 repeats and Jaimie had us pace them so we could get our legs going a little. We all took turns pacing them for their 800's. After we only had 4 more miles so we ran to my house where I grabbed my new shoes and then ran back.

Region is on Wednesday and Thursday and I am super pumped. I was originally just going to run the 2 mile but Jamie put me into the mile at the last second as well. It's supposed to rain but I'm not going to let that stop me from getting some pr's this week!

Been awhile since I posted on the blog so I decided to update and explain what's happened the past few weeks on my running. Region went horrible, both my races were filled with asthma attacks so we will have to see if I ever go and put those races in, I'm not planning on it. Last week I totaled about 9 miles..it was a pretty lazy week but it felt good to not have to run and to keep my legs rested. Went and watched state which was pretty sick! Shoutout to everyone who ran there especially @connorballer, he killed it.

As for my run today, I started by running through the creek and then  I ran up the hill that's parallel to the one that leads to Eaglecrest. I then made a right and made a loop out by Smith's and then came on home. Not running for real in a couple weeks made the run pretty hard but I was still somehow able to hold a 6:43/mile pace through the whole thing. I had to take a few stops because I was having breathing troubles but overall am pretty happy on how it went.

Woke up and decided I'd better get out and run a little bit. Decided to go 6 miles and to keep it as flat as possible. I ran down towards pioneer crossing but turned early and ran on main street to the high school, then up past the high school and through the cemetery. Wasn't feeling very good today and my throat was on fire which made it pretty hard to breath. I took a bunch of breaks and at the end just laid on my driveway for a good 5 minutes. On the bright side my legs felt great though. Average pace was a 6:50/mile.

Hiked the Y with Matt, Sean and some other people from the team. Ended up running a little throughout and then down the whole thing. Probably totaled about a mile.

I got a total of 5 hours of sleep last night so I was pretty exhausted. After taking a nap like an hour after getting up, I decided just to go on a short run to wake myself up to prepare for graduation and grad night tonight. I ran up by the cemetery and then made a loop through the creek and came to a total of 3.1 miles. I felt super great and didn't stop once throughout the whole run, not even to stretch. I kept waiting for my legs to start hurting by they never did which was way nice. I found it pretty easy to breath up until the last half mile which was nice too. I took it pretty fast since it was so short and ended up with a pace of 6:20/mile. Last day as a high school student today! Pretty stoked but also going to miss it. It's going to be weird.
