Running Accomplishments:

I have been running ever since my 7th grade year when I joined the junior high track team. When I made the move to High School I jumped right into XC and then to track. Had the opportunity to run at Nike Cross Regionals in Arizona with my team this last season. My PR's are: Mile- 4:54, 2 mile: 10:32, 800m: 2:13, 5K: 17:07, 400: 57 sec.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My goals for thie track season is to qualify for state in one of the three main distance events. I'm focusing on getting there for the mile with the rest of my team but would be happy with any that may come my way. 800m: 2:00, Mile: 4:26, 2 Mile: 10:05.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to run in college after high school but if that doesn't pan out then my goal is to stay active with running, maybe get into running half or full marathons.

Personal:

Diabetic Asmatic. Found out I had type-1 diabetes right before my first year running XC for my high school. I had asthma as a kid and it went away and recently came back last track season, I didn't find out about it until this last XC season so my PR's aren't quite where I want the to be. Once I began treating my asthma my PR for the 5k dropped by a minute so I'm excited to see how that translates to this track season. Member of Team Pre, follow us @team_pre on instagram!

No school today so some of us met in the morning to get our run it. We have 10 miles everyday this week so we decided to do a temple run. We made it there and back with an average pace of like 6:57/mile or something like that. We then went to kneaders and got the all you can eat French toast. Shout out to @sirmatthewtodd for eating 8 French toasts today!

We thought we were supposed to have a speed workout today but it turned out to be speed changes around the football field for a half mile. We sat around for way too long after that and when we finally got out to run our next 8 miles it took us a few miles to warm up. My legs were super tired, but they felt better by the end. Average mile for the day was a 6:58/mile.

What a great workout today. We were warned yesterday that we were going to have a killer workout today and it didn't fail to disappoint. We ran 90 sec. up aiport hill (local workout hill) as fast as we could. Each time up was a little more than 400 m. We had a nice slow jog going down the hill between each time running the hill. We did that in sets of 3 and then we would do a slow jog around part of the cemetery. We ended up doing a total of 3 sets. The first set I pushed it pretty hard and even won one of the sets. During the second set I tried to just cruise and was successful for the most part. Then I went all out for the last set. I finished in 3rd behind Ryan and Matt for all but one of the sets so I was happy with that. After we were done we jogged back to the high school and got our daily miles to 10.

After our workout yesterday, Jaimie decided for today to be a rest day which was welcomed by all of us. She wanted us to work on form today also though so we ran 3 miles before and then met back up at the high school to do speed changes around the football field like earlier this week (we went 6 times around). I felt great on the first 4 but by the 5 and 6th ones I was in a lot of pain. Jaimie videoed us running and then showed us what could be improved on our form. We then went and ran 5.75 miles and got up to 10. Then, later I went and played basketball with some adults from my ward. I am tired beyond belief at the moment and look forward to the ice bath that I am about to go and take.

Easy 10 mile distance run today. We started out with a little bit of ab work and then we immediately went out on our run. We went out 4.5 miles and then turned around and headed back. Brock and I were a good 100 m behind the rest of the group for the first half of the run, we were both not feeling the best and decided to keep our pace around 7:00/mile. For the second half we were able to stay with the group and ended up getting an average pace of 6:53/mile.

10 mile "run with Matt." We decided to meet at his house to go run, and we were planning on a fast run, but I was not as ready as I was expecting. We started by running a warm up mile in like 7:50 and then after stretching immeditatly went into 6:15 pace. I held that for a mile and then died. Matt was a good mile ahead of me for most of the run which was pretty discouraging but I was still able to to hold a 6:38/mile pace through the whole thing. My legs were super sore and went numb towards the end so I was very happy to be done. I'm not surprised that my legs hurt so bad though, I mean, I did just run 60 miles this week.
