Running Accomplishments:

I have been running ever since my 7th grade year when I joined the junior high track team. When I made the move to High School I jumped right into XC and then to track. Had the opportunity to run at Nike Cross Regionals in Arizona with my team this last season. My PR's are: Mile- 4:54, 2 mile: 10:32, 800m: 2:13, 5K: 17:07, 400: 57 sec.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My goals for thie track season is to qualify for state in one of the three main distance events. I'm focusing on getting there for the mile with the rest of my team but would be happy with any that may come my way. 800m: 2:00, Mile: 4:26, 2 Mile: 10:05.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to run in college after high school but if that doesn't pan out then my goal is to stay active with running, maybe get into running half or full marathons.

Personal:

Diabetic Asmatic. Found out I had type-1 diabetes right before my first year running XC for my high school. I had asthma as a kid and it went away and recently came back last track season, I didn't find out about it until this last XC season so my PR's aren't quite where I want the to be. Once I began treating my asthma my PR for the 5k dropped by a minute so I'm excited to see how that translates to this track season. Member of Team Pre, follow us @team_pre on instagram!

10 mile run today. I was in the worst pain I have ever experienced while running before. For miles 1-6 I was limping and was unable to stay with the group. The pain went down my left leg through the run and around mile 7 my foot completely fell asleep. At that point the pain started to go away and I was able to stick with the group. Average pace for the run was 6:59/mile. I took an ice bath to help with the soreness in my legs so hopefully they will feel better tomorrow.

I got my wisdom teeth out today so I ran 8 miles in the morning before my appointment. I wanted to get 10 today but my diabetes made me push back when I got out on my run, so I was happy that I was able to get 8 without dying. My average pace for the run was 6:47/mile.

Speed workout today. We did 2x1000, 2x800, and 4x400 at indoor goal 3200 pace. My legs were way tired today and my asthma was giving me a lot of problems so I wasn't getting what I wanted to get. I was able to stay with the group on the 1000m ones but I couldn't stick with them on the 800's which kind of sucked. I wore a bandana during the 800's so by the end of the 400's I was able to stick with the group once again. After we were done we finished up our miles and ended up getting 8 for the day. Average pace for the cooldown was 7:17/mile. Connor and I went and did some core after that.

Another speed workout today. We warmed up and then ran a mile to the cemetery. We ran 4x200, 400, 200 up the gradual hill that we usually do whistle hills on. The 400 and the second 200 were short but running uphill made up for it. We did each of them at goal indoor mile pace. My plan was just to go fast and save some for the end. Around the end of the 3rd set I realized that I had too much energy so I turned it up a gear and got quicker for the last set. For the last set I was contending for the lead (with practically everyone else) and it felt great. On the final 200 I was able to beat everyone which doesn't mean anything but it was a good confidence boost. We were all really dead after that and had a nice slow cool down to get our miles to 8. I went to Jujitsu later that night and it helped to loosen up my legs which were really sore so I was very happy for that.

Once again, another speed workout. This one was on the track and it was 4x400's at mile pace, 6x200 at 800 pace, and 4x100 as fast as you could. I did the 200's at the 100's in my spikes which felt great. I was able to stick with the pack through the whole workout and overall felt really good with how it went. My times for the 400's and the 200's were 72, 69, 69, 69, 32, 32, 31, 32, 31, 32. I was able to stay consistent which was my main focus for the workout. After we were done we went and cooled down 5 miles to get our daily total to 8 miles. Our pace for the cooldown was 7:16/mile. After that Connor and I went and benched a little and then did some core. Then after that we played basketball in the gym for a good 30 minutes which helped to loosen up my really sore legs.

My plan for today was to run 5 miles with Matt and my brother-in-law and then go play a basketball game for church and then go and run 5 more miles. It didn't happen at all like I wanted. My brother-in-law and myself ran 5 miles in the morning and then went to basketball where we found out it was cancelled, then we ended up going to kneaders. After that I took a nap and before I knew it it was time to go on my date for the dance (Sweethearts) that was today. It was supposed to be a recovery day so my average pace was 7:41/mile.
